Nah, you have to use very smart tactics and good preperation....
1. Lots of healing potions
2. If you are arcane, cast a fully charged Orb Storm (2-3 Volleys should kill him). Try to get all orbs to hit.
3. Drink a potion of Magic Immunity. That makes you immune to all his spells.
4. Drink potion of regeneration for an extra buff. Potion of Power also increases chances of survival.
5. Keep yourself ranged can be smart. Dont use poison.
6. Concentrate all firepower on the Deamon Lord itself (Not his minons). Except when he summons a eye! Kill eyes very fast with a poking weapon.
7. Paladins with special power unlocked owns Deamon Lord if played correctly (They regain mana by evil damage and can use healing power to damage him, Deamon Lord Weakness)

Ooh! Paladins Good vs. Deamon Lords!
Too bad I had to cheat to get his special power.
I beat the Deamon Lord, with a mgc crssbw + swrd f wepnmastr as a level 4 Rogue, alas, it took three respawns. |

Bracelet of Fire resist/Healer casting resist spells against Evil and fire is also very usefull. Secondly the spell Bind is very powerfull used against strong bosses. Casting a ton of trap spells and luring him in it is also a nifty trick (Icicle and Skull Trap for example).
Oh and dont use fire against him. You will mostly die then.

Huh. I've never seen it spelled with an "ea" before, shouldn't it be just "e" or "ae"? "ae" is the middle English spelling (I don't like saying "old English because old English is practically a completely different language  )... |

Huh. The abyss is just crazy. My adventurer with 9 (!) life potions doesn't even get to see that deamon lord... (Those vampires keep killing me by just removing my max. life)
