I was thinking that, around Egoboo 5.0.0 (very far in the future), we could switch to Source (an insanely good physics engine, usually used for the best-selling games) for Egoboo!...this would come with tons of work.
What do you people think?

It seems that Source is Windows only, we would lose all the other platforms. _________________ Donna Noble has left the library. Donna Noble has been saved.

As for me, I say no.
Why? Because it only supports Windows.
If they release their source code and/or release other platforms, I will reconsider it. _________________ Donna Noble has left the library. Donna Noble has been saved.

No. I mean, Egoboo is FREE. If we use PRICEFUL source code, then it's PRICEFUL.... _________________

5.0? Source?
No. It can't be done anyways. You would have to make a whole new "mod" in the source engine which you would call "egoboo" or something like it. One can't port Egoboo to a new game engine, graphic engine, sound engine and actually everything Egoboo is built on. It would be easier making a new game.
Egoboo is GPL, which means the source for the game has to be released with it. _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

Like Zefz said, it would never work for about a dozen reasons.
Why scrap 10 years (OK, maybe it's not that much) of work just to use a new physics engine?
So what if "all the cool games" use it? _________________
