That's some serious demands
I don't think i can pull off something like that, but I'll see what can do.
Umm... here's the one for K'nife's heist.
I've been experimenting with different styles, so far this one seems to be the best. _________________ Never, ever, ever click this.

Nice work Chainsaw. I'll put it into the next release then... _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

The snake looks good.
The penguin needs improvement before it should be considered for inclusion. The feet, the stance, it just looks like a bad drawing that has been shaded. It's difficult to be constructive with that - you need to investigate posture and other factors that are important when drawing creatures. The best place to learn such things is the Wesnoth forum where there are so many pixel artists coming up with amazing art for that game.

PS. I think people on this board need to be more critical otherwise the Egoboo artwork is going to go downhill and make the game look worse. Being critical can be a positive thing if you give tips / pointers when doing it. Saying 'wow' at not-so-good images helps nobody, it doesn't help the artist improve and it lowers the game art standards. |

Forget you! All he would need to do is re-do it with those goals in mind! _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/maxaxle88/

No, he could be quite right actually. Saying thats good and fine to a work you actually think needs improvement both reduces the artists future abillity and the overall game quality. I myself do not add things into the game unless it really is good and fits into the rest of the scene.
Constructive critisism has improved my abillity to work with Egoboo from medicore to whatever it is now.
Saying 'wow' is a good morale boost, but doesnt really inspire the artist to further improve his current work. Critisism is fine as long as one can point out the parts that needs improvement in your view in a constructive way. _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

Alright, I'll lurk around that forum for a while, I'll see if i can come up with something.
I agree that the penguin could have been better, I'll try again.
Guys, he's right, it's nice to have people saying wow, but point out anything you don't like, or you think that needs improvement, i didn't see all these flaws until freegamer pointed them out to me.

The first penguin was very good. I don't know why you changed it. |

I'm tempted to compete, though I know I'm not very good compared to professional standards yet or at least trying the adapt to Egoboo's original style.
This is not anything I would use ingame(I don't like it :P), but here's something I drew off based of the actual King Penguin.

That's quite interesting!
I think it would look a bit better without the pencil outlines on the "vapor trail" behind the perguins, but other than that it is very egoboo-ish: good shading, low level of detail, cartoonish, abstract background. |

| That's what I thought about but I ended up merging the layers and added a grain filter before erasing the unnecessary lines cames to my mind. Still good for practice I guess. |
