It's supposed to be easy. Infact, I think it's one of those starters(exception with the Rouge, G'nome a bit, Wizard) that allows you to try take full advatage of that class's natural ability and how it could help later in the game. It would be harder if you don't know what a healer a capable of. |
I would say that this is the entire point of the starters. If don't like the starter, you will never be able to get far with that character class! |
Very true. I never liked the Rouge starter at first because I though it was a death fest only to know that the enitre thing required complex strategy. Sneak kills, backstabbing, listening(Tranch ambuses), trapping, weapon selection and even the paths you choose.
I felt quite accomplished that I finished it without taking a single hit.

That I know, but it's kinda tedious to kill them all especially when you have to get some cool down time for Mana to KO Ghouls. _________________ Current Project

It might need re-balancing later (Mana regain etc.). But I would wait with that until the game reaches a more complete state (3.0?) _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

3.0... I can't wait for it! Well, that's a long time to it, but still... Oh, and I think the Rogue starter is too hard for beginners, too. It's so easy now, but in the beginning, it was totally too hard. Oh, and there is one key too much in the Rogue starter, I think. I'm not sure. _________________

Well, the idea is that players would get used to the game through the easier starters like the Adventurer's and the G'nome's. _________________

Oh? But then new players choose Adventurer or G'nome. No Rogues. Well, I am not the one who should say this... I mean the Angel starter... Well, it IS secret, if it ever goes to the game, right? _________________

If K'nife survives the Rogue starter, it will save the fact that you unlocked the Heist, but it will not save your character. _________________

Yep.
Pretty annoying problem.
But it should be easy to fix; I would think it's just an oversight (although most bugs are). _________________

I fixed it in the next release. Or at least it should be fixed. _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

@woodmouse: No, the number of keys in the rogue starter is correct. Two keys for two doors.
@PurpleSquerkle: I already reported that before; it is because the exit_area.obj both enables and disables exporting all the time after you beat the module, which usually results in not being able to export. _________________ Yes, it's true. I fail. Epicly so. |

I don't think it's intended to be able to jump into pillars.

I have knew that a loooong time. That pillar jumnping bug. But I think it's good. Because in Bishopia, when guards are chasing, you can jump into pillar if you are a Rogue or someone else who can jump bigly. _________________

If you knew about this bug, why didn't you report it?
(I get that it's cool and useful, but it's obviously not meant to be.) _________________ "To err is human, to really mess up requires a computer."

Easy fix. Just need to change the bump height for pillars.
They are a separate object, right?
Anyway, why does that screenshot look so ugly?!

I thought it was useful and funny so I didn't report about it... _________________
