Is there a way to change how the posts are marked?
Right now, if you log in, and a bunch are yellow because they're unread... And then you have to leave, and haven't seen them all... when you come back, they're not yellow anymore.

It just shows things posted since your last visit. I want it to show EVERYTHING you haven't read.

Is that possible?

Yes, that irritates me too. But I havent found a way to do it. (Except mark all as read, which is the opposite of what we want)

phpBB2 only does session tracking, not full tracking.

I find that hard to believe...
This is the only forum I've ever seen this sort of thing used on.
Everything else is the way I described this should be... Confused

Other forums may be using a different forum software.

What if the posts would maybe stay brown/yellow/whatever color that is until you click them? Would that be possible? It makes me mad, when my computer crashes when I am in the forum and haven't read anything new yet... This makes everyone mad... I think. So is it possible?

If you're in the same session, then yes, else you'll need phpBB3.

When you log in, you start a session, and if you are idle for 15 minutes, then you are not in the session anymore (I think).

If the idle time could be extended that would be nice, since we apparently can't change the entire system.
That way, if you have to go somewhere, you can just exit without logging out and come back later.
