Yes, pits, good. Rolling boulders, a must. Snakes, naturally. Poison darts are always fun.
But the boulder (or one of them?) should be triggered by you removing an artifact from a pedestal unless you place something else there right away!
We could make the whole thing a replica of the opening scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark!
Well, not exactly. But close, you know?
And I really want to do something else to contribute to the Archaeologist. Because he's just so cool!
I did that revolver, but... apparently people didn't like it, I guess. _________________

I wonder how to manage the temple indoors though. I have made a big Maya temple in the middle of the map, but if the character should enter it, then how?
I was also thinking of just making the temple really GARGANTUAN. That way the road up to the temple could be the "dungeon" and the treasure would be on the top. _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

Make it all outside.
Like a path in a jungle, up to the temple, like Zefz was saying.
And at the top of the temple there's some shiny golden artifact thingy. And unless you put something down right away, it triggers a trap where you have to run from a rolling boulder! _________________
