I want to keep the number of items small, though maybe larger than whatever it is now.
Maybe there could be a way to raise the item limit using a script, so that you could have a "bag of holding" or something.
A better plan would be to change the hard coded inventory system so that you can have sub items (a coin and a torch inside a bag in your inventory ...), but how would you get stuff into and out of the bag? |

Maybe you have the bag in your hand, and use it, and a little window
pops up, with your inventory, and the bags, and you drag and drop items.
(I know, not very Egobooish, but it'll work. (if it can be implemented) ) _________________ Penguinflyer2222: Made in U.S.A.

I would prefer the quest items to appear in other place like in the stats and if it is possible just the icon [Zefz's idea] (sorry about the double post ,I know it's forbidden but it wasn't my intention but my computer had had a problem ) |

Well, the quest items and sporks..
But the bag I think is for normal items. _________________ Penguinflyer2222: Made in U.S.A.

I thought of this a really long time ago but never mentioned it for some reason.
I think it could be done with scripting. Basically, you'd have an object that picks up and inventories any item it touches, and if it is used it drops them all on the ground.
I still like my idea better than any alternative though: weightless objects.
How hard would that be to program? _________________

The weight is not the problem. It only checks to see whether the "equipment" flag is set. If not, it gives you a message about it being too big to fit in your pack. Weight may go into whether something can be picked up or not, but I can't remember.
One problem with Egoboo is the lack of a specific "action button". If anyone remembers randegoboo, you had to attack the doors to be transported to the next module. That was a bit annoying.
We could certainly add some more game latches for some special actions, but then the input device config file wouldn't be backward compatible. |

I know.
I may not have been clear enough, but I was just talking about what I said in my first post: adding a tag that makes the object "weightless" (i.e., it takes up no inventory space).
I wasn't talking about object weight, that's just what I chose to call it.... _________________

Terran has to many sporks and keys!
But that was just showing how it works.
A nice idea.
Lots of ideas here in this thread.
Good ideas. _________________ Penguinflyer2222: Made in U.S.A.

But then we can't poke people with the Sporks.
No, but really, I thought of a better way for the icons to work (a really, really long time ago; we've had this discussion before, you see; many times).
It'd be easier, too, I think.
You push the number key that corresponds to your character slot (like what you do to get your status), and it changes your face icon, cycling through all the icons of the keys, sporks, and quest items you own. _________________
