Can we do to the mana bars what we're doing with particles? It'd be nice to have more mana; at least two more bars, one for internally chanelled / misc. magic (Druid and Hobgoblin, etc.), and one for a not-necessarily-magic effect (Werewolf etc.). I'm thinking orange (or dark green or dark blue or brown) and grey, respectively?

There are like 7 bar colors already, and only 2 are being used...

We could do something similar to the auto particle sizing, where we would assume 1 mana bar wide and such-and-such a ratio of height to width for the bars. Then you could add as many as you want to the bottom.


HOWEVER, what has already been implemented is that if you place a new bars.bmp in the gamedat dir, it will override the one that is in the basicdat dir.

This is the same for just about everything that is in the basicdat dir.

There are SEVEN colors?! I haven't looked in a while.
Anyway, I think there may be a hardcoded limit. I really don't know, because I've never so much as taken a glance at the source (though if I did, after several hours, I could figure out the answer to my question, probably. But it would take a long time).

Anyway, all I can think of is

Red- Standard health
Green- Poisoned health
Purple- Arcane mana
Yellow- Divine Mana
Blue- Used for some enchantments, or at least it used to be

There's five, what are the other two and what are they used for?

Denis did those. I'm not sure, but I may have them lying around somewhere. I didn't think they were so much better than the original (Hence they aren't into the game).

Well, they weren't measurably better; I saw them as more of an alternative, just a different-looking thing.

Maybe they could be used for a Healer if they did arcane magic? The bar would crack and then drain to zero very quickly. Also, it would happen if a character lost a mana-using ability of some sort, POSSIBLY establishing a new one under it...

Maybe it would make sense to have one dungeon where the cracked bars are used?

Maybe to signal that the regen rates are broken?
