|
|
So here we go:
I, Denis Jaimes, declare myself as returning 100% to the Egoboo team and spending 50% of the free time I used to take to develop my book, which means instead of spending 100% of my free time on the computer on my book, I will spend 50% on Egoboo and 50% on my book.
Why?
Because Egoboo is the only thing that can give me inspirations in writing the book, and it also gives me lots of ideas. Without Egoboo, the book would completely disconnect itself from the game and it will soon turn into another story.
What else?
I would wish my rank to be changed from "Ex-developer" to "Story teller". Now, story teller has nothing to do with being a leader, I am trying to do everything I can to continue the broken storyline of Egoboo and beyond, it is just part of the game, like the source code. You aren't necessarily a leader if you are a programmer for example, are you? |

Zefz should let you do that, but we didn't get our specially chosen rank until we had reached the highest one. _________________ FACEPLANT |

You can ask Zefs via Pm to make you part of the ordinary rank system, once you reach 400 posts you can pick one for yourself.
But i'm sure Zefz will let you change it right now, seeing as you're ex-developer and stuff.
Welcome back, By the way. _________________ Never, ever, ever click this.

Ah okay. Welcome back to the DEV team then Denis. I give all devs the same rank, no matter their speciality (Coder, artist, modeller, etc.). _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

I must say that I disagree with the general "team ranking" approach. Status should be earnt rather than assigned. Too many projects assign out positions to make the people feel good about themselves when said people haven't actually done anything yet.
This is not a veiled attack on denis3, just I think that really such rankings should be assigned AFTER contributions rather than before them. Too many people jump on the bandwagon of a game and seek some kind of official attachment then don't actually do anything notable. I mean, why do you (generic you) need an official title before you contribute to a game? |

He was an ex-developer and has been on the team before. He just did sort of a "comeback". He helped me out with the Ice Palace, did some coding and some artwork. He also did some modelling and created some objects.
He should not be forgotten for what he did Even if he left the team a while back. _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

What are you talking about?! Denis has already done tons of stuff! So did Zefz, Birdsey, and Jonathan, even before they had the title of "developer," before these forums...!
Also, what are the rest of us, anyway? I'm in favor of calling ourselves the subdevteam, or maybe the "devteam junior." Heehee... _________________

Sorry, that was just a general gripe not even aimed at Egoboo or the people here. I see some projects get so obsessed with title-ising everything and organising themselves, then do nothing.
I guess I just meant to say that titles are not important, progress is. |

Devteam junior?
Well, I suppose we're a cheap source of labor and bug testing _________________ Never, ever, ever click this.
