| Quote: | And I still think that, like Clonkinator said, it's absolutely ridiculous to compare Egoboo to commercial games like that.
The only way it will ever compete with them is if we all were doing this for a full-time job.
We discussed that before, actually, and it is a possibility (not that the game would be commercial; I brought up "The Brothers Chaps" as an example), but won't happen until very far down the road, if at all. |
Actually, if you look at how Linux is competing with Windows, it IS possible.
And well my only last petition to you guys, especially to ZefZ, is that once I finish my package, I would like it to be included in the official website and considered as an official edition of Egoboo. Thanks!

Tomorrow I'm gonna start making the first chapter of The Adventure of The King: Remake based on the Egoboo engine hopefully to be released the next week, I'll start with making a trailer and releasing a secondary video, celebrating the first anniversary of "World of Warcraft addict", which is the most commented of my videos. Anyways, as soon as the first chapter is released, it will link to a website that leads to the new project.
Few details to start with: All the starter modules will become multiplayer modules featuring elements of the storyline, and will include lots of speeches like: "I'll give you a key if you help me get out!" _________________ Season: 3

Sigh. You really love to have the final say, don't you?
If you think about it, are Windows and Linux themselves games? I guess they aren't.

So you're trying to split up the Egoboo community once again? Cool. That's how projects die off. _________________ Yes, it's true. I fail. Epicly so. |

Why do we need an "Adventure Edition" anyway?

I think it could be a add-on instead of an "edition".
We can have the engine separated from the whole game data, and the
data could be an add-on named "Rescue the King"?
Just a thought. _________________ Donna Noble has left the library. Donna Noble has been saved.

Linux didn't die off when they created other editions of it. Also, if I want to have people actually play what I'll create, I will have to link it to my own website, I have no choice.

Cuz the only way to have more people come to our community is to show them something new, like a revolution. That's how rock survived until today for example, cuz they started trying out new styles. Of course, there are still people who listen to 80s rock...
And, basically, the whole structure of the project actually works as an "edition" rather than an add-on, cuz you can't just patch it over the original version of Egoboo. Remember that it doesn't have starter modules, it has a whole list of special characters. _________________ Season: 3

Just do it already. Amaze me by making Egoboo the next rock. Words isn't proof enough. I hope your motivation is enough to drive you this time. _________________ Current Project

Stop comparing Egoboo to operator systems!
Also, the statement that you have no choice is just ridiculous.

It's neither the only nor the best way, mister. Why do you throw out one false statement after another anyway? If you're so incredibly motivated to do your project, just finally freakin' do it, and don't bug us with that trash all the time. And yes, I am pissed. _________________ Yes, it's true. I fail. Shut the f*ck up guys. All of you.
Denis: Go do your projects, Your arguments are flawed, and you can't convince anyone. So just start doing stuff, If you need help with resources, you can ask for it here.
Everyone else: Take your head out of your ass and shut up. No one is trying to replace Egoboo, he's doing his own project, and he's not even replacing anything, he's just giving the storyline a boost and creating his own version of the modules and characters. All in the spirit of open source. _________________ "To err is human, to really mess up requires a computer."
