Look through the threads and find Zefz' link to the missing SDL.dll... _________________ FACEPLANT |

All skills are read in either the Skill IDSZ place or as an expansion. (Both located in data.txt).
Adding :[JOUS] 1 to the bottom of data.txt will add the Jousting Skill expansion to the character (And thus enabling him to use lances on a mount).
You can add as many as the predefined skills as you want. A list of all the skill expansions and how they are added to a character is located in the Game Manual. _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

I don't think throwing a crossbow would make much sense... _________________ Yes, it's true. I fail. Epicly so. |

Oh and so far weapons usage (Except the lance) is not restricted by skills.
Copy.txt defines which attack types the class can use (XBOW, SLICE, ZAP, BASH, etc.) _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

actually, it is a combination of the animations defined for the model and copy.txt that tell you what a model can do.
Most of the models do not have a complete set of animations. So, the code will make some basic patches to make up for this. For instance, if there is a missing walk animation (like WD), the computer will force the animator to use a different animation that is defined in the MD2 file (like, maybe WA). This system only goes so far and mostly just "copies" animations of the same type.
copy.txt just allows you to do the same thing, but without limits. You can tell the computer to use substitute any animation for any other animation. Specifically, you could force the computer to use the unarmed animation for a non-existent flinged animation, which would allow your character to use ninjastars. |

I think "Fire" wasn't supposed to be capitalized, but a fire crossbow would be really cool for a ninja, like the feudal Koreans apparently used (with fireworks, ya'know....) _________________
