I searched for and found old, dusty cd with Egoboo version that was the first I've played I think (tho there is a lil thought that I may have even older version somewhere) and if info I've got from right-click executable file properties is correct, it's version 1.0.0.1.
And if someone asks - yeah, it still works. Tho screen seems to 'flicker' really fast. But still, it does not takes much from gameplay.
I'm downloading 2.4.4b currently. I'll tell you what I'll get out of it later.
UPDATE: 2.4.4b worked just after being downloaded and unpacked from sourceforge. |

OK, now you should try what Zefz said: download 2.6.1 and get the fixpatch for it (the link is earlier in this thread). _________________

As I've informed in my first post I've already downloaded 2.6.1 and used patch - with no positive results.
But, just for your satisfaction, I've downloaded it again, installed, tried to turn on, then installed patch and tried to turn on again. Guess what - Donkey's a**.
I hope that someone will identify and solve this problem soon. I really would like to play that game |

Hmm you got that strange error right. And 2.4.4b works for you. Then it has still something to do with compile settings sigh... _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

Which is strange, since they use the EXACT same source code. And same compile settings too. My guess is that maybe the new SDL libraries are interfering or it has something to do with the upgrade(?) to Visual Studio 2008. _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

Just for further information - I've also checked 2.6.3b with no positive effect. Tho I take it we're already lost cause probably. Do tell when I should stop bothering you all |

Not yet!
We want it to work for you, of course, but... Personally, I have no idea what could be causing the problem.
Then again, I'm not really the one who should be answering your question, so this post is almost pointless. _________________

Really, as Purple said, we want Egoboo to work for you as well, but Zefz, who could most probably solve your problem, is currently on vacation. bgbirdsey, perhaps? _________________ Yes, it's true. I fail. Epicly so. |

| I would bet that your video card has a bad implementation of OpenGL. You could do a web search to see if this is a known problem. |

Checked on net, yet there wasn't too many people saying that there are any common problems with my graphic card. Tho I wonder if it may be just that it's too old and for example - does not support shader needed by Egoboo. If someone did found something I could miss, I would ask to share. My card is pretty oldish Radeon 9200 SE after all, tho if taken into consideration that 2.4.4b worked very nicely, I believed that at least several next version will do the same, unless you've changed graphic greatly (I wasn't checking versions Changelog as I didn't wanted to ruin my fun of finding new things if I would be able to ever run never versions). |

Hmm... I'm not sure is it possible to change something in "setup.txt" so it would work? If it's shading or resolution or something? I mean, I'm not good at this kinda things, but I just thought that... _________________
