|
|
Hi guys.
Just started playing egoboo, and I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. I played the first level of the adventurer starter module (with the grub bugs) and I the two characters I am supposed to be guiding to the end just keep dying. and on the one occasion when one of them has made it to the end, it said "VICTORY! press esc to continue" but when I press escape I get booted to the title screen with no continue. Maybe I'm missing some vital piece of info. Please any advice is most welcome. Even just say 'BAD NOOB!' would be fine. |

Try pressing your "jump" key. It should be space on the keyboard...
That may work if it is not just broken. |

You go to the menu screen, yes, and your character should now be saved for the Load Save Player menu. _________________

No, go to a non-starter module and select your character. _________________

You don't have to lead them all the way to the end, you know...
(But we should make some reward if you have.
Like, extra money or experience for every surviving party member.) _________________ Chainsaw's Cell [Last update: 08/05/08]

About 1 second away from binning it. Gave it a pretty good shake of the whip but when I can't finish the first level (is there some kind of tutorial mode? might be an idea for beginners) it makes me sad.
What are the criteria for beating this level? I've been hanging around in the room with the mum grub slaying grub bugs for ages. Both the other clowns died. I can't hit or damage this mum grub and the bug grubs keep spawning but I get no victory msg. Is there something I'm missing? |

Once you kill the grub mum, press jump, and you win.
Oh, to kill the grub mum, either hit it in the eye, torch it, or cast spells at it _________________ Chainsaw's Cell [Last update: 08/05/08]

You don't have to aim for the eye with the torch, you can hit it in the back and run like a sissy, waiting for the next opportunity. _________________ Chainsaw's Cell [Last update: 08/05/08]

| "Load game" does not mean "load saved game." You load a module ad choose which character you want to use. Your character from the adventurer start should be on this list. |

Hmm. Is exporting broken in 2.7.7? Can anyone else try a starter module and see if they manage to get their character stored?
And with the new quest system, the game will be more like Loading a Saved Character. Your progress in the Egoboo story will be saved. Thus if you defeat the Sand Palace with Loggy, Egoboo will remember this and unlock the Shadow Palace for Loggy (But not for other characters). Same with secret modules, like the ash domain.
This way we can make sidequests (K'nife's Heist), which is only loadable for the characters who have unlocked it. _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net
