What are the criteria for beating this level? I've been hanging around in the room with the mum grub slaying grub bugs for ages. Both the other clowns died. I can't hit or damage this mum grub and the bug grubs keep spawning but I get no victory msg. Is there something I'm missing? |
Like they said, you have to hit the Mum in the eye with a physical weapon, or use nonphysical damage anywhere on its body (use the magic book or a lit torch).
But, seriously, no matter what the difficulty says, it's not that easy. I can beat it pretty easily now that I get it, but when I first played the game I had a really hard time with it. The first starter I beat was the G'nome's. You might die a lot, but it's not too hard. Just shoot everything! It's straightforward, at least. _________________

I think we would make Adventurer starter a little easier? And if I hit the mum with a lit torch, it doesn't damage it... Only if I hit the eye... _________________

Okay, so we want to tune down the difficulity on the Adventurer Starter? (It is after all the recommeded module for new players). Say we tune down the HP, armor and damage of the boss. In addition we can make Brom the knight a bit more powerful too? _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

Yes, those are all good ideas. It really is too difficult to be the recommended starting point. _________________

I'd just give Brom 3 more HP, and Mim 2 more. Mim dies too quickly, and if she's dead, all the healing is gone, resulting in a dead player quickly. I actually think the boss' HP are okay, it's just that it always kills Brom and Mim once they touch it. Maybe make it bump the target away quite a bit after each hit, so it doesn't get stuck in the grub mum if it touches it. _________________ "Luke, I'm not your father. I'm your mom."

By the way, doesn't my guide help? I once wrote one that should help quite a bit to get through that level. Here's a link: guide _________________ "Luke, I'm not your father. I'm your mom."

Okay, both Mim and Brom have slightly more hp. Actually their life points are more according to how a player healer should have at level 3 (Yes both start at level 3 and did not have the new stats rebalancing).
In addition the grub mum has now a damage timer and randomized damage (Instead of dealing always 3,5 damage, she now deals 2-4). In addition when she damages something, she waits 1 full second before doing so again. _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

Great, that should sure make it a lot easier for beginners, while not taking too much of the action away for experts. _________________ "Luke, I'm not your father. I'm your mom."

I normally kill the Mum bug before it goes down the hole. lolz. It moves extremely slow un the water before it goes down the drain. That is the perfect opportunity. _________________

The thing is, Jarramundi is using 2.4.4 or 2.7.5, not 2.7.7. _________________ What do you want? |
