Not doing anything.
Argh, this is the most frustrating bit of scripting I've done yet.
I just can't figure it out.

Did I forget the part where it actually, you know, throws it?
What's this doing right here (like I said, I copied it out of another script, so I don't fully understand it ):

I have an obvious thing to add here: a leaning-back animation for when you're about to throw anything. It would be slow for the Spear, but fast for the Ninjastars (or anything small and light). _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/maxaxle88/

With the SetChildState you are setting the state of the last object you spawned (Eg. the last object you threw). With the state you can specify how the object should react.
What are you trying to accomplish actually? Melee and throwing in one weapon? Because spears use throw animation when stacked and bombs drop to the floor if not high enough content. _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net

Aww, man... It's not even possible in scripting?
I wanted it to be normally a melee weapon, but when you held down the key, you could charge up a throw.
Then I was also going to make it randomly lurch and jump out of your hand at unpredictable moments.
Hey, I have an idea.
Why not make charging increase its ammunition? And make its ammunition go back to zero when thrown? Would that work?
Or does it actually check for stacking to throw, not just ammo? _________________

I know how it does the damage particle; that's in the script.
The rest must be hardcoded?
I have an idea, though!
I'll make a new animation where the spear flies out a distance and then comes back to the origin point.
I'll make it do that action when it's charged.

Eh, it's not really working.
For starters, you can turn, and the spear will turn, too, obviously. It's kind of weird-looking.
I GIVE UP.
If someone can figure out how to make it throw, awesome.
But nothing I've tried works. It was a total waste of time.  _________________
