Scytale, I have a couple comments for you.
1) Statements like the following
"it seems to be that you're all more or less throwing ideas here and there, but none of you seems to have concrete rules"
"That's about points like that I'm speaking: ideas that can be good, but still not stated very clearly".
can come across as offensive, especially when your own game description has holes in it like
[Rather difficult to say. Let's wait for the first card being created to adjust the PP gain at each turn.]
(let's say 20 to begin with, we'll adjust according to the ATK the creatures will have.)
the players have to adjust themselves their number of cards between too many and too few
To insulate against this criticism, be sure that what you have offered is far superior to what others have offered.
2) the game should emulate the Egoboo experience. Therefore, there should be Gonnes that G'Nomes and Lumpkins can use and Elfs cannot. The game must also include some idea of dungeons, quests for the sporks, and a way to rescue the king. Without these, there is no point in playing this card game over any other.
3) Your adventure idea either too limited or too complicated. I cannot tell because there are not enough details. If it comes down to the idea that the players must defeat the GM five "hands" in a row to get the spork, it is too limited/simple. If there is a kind of dungeon "map" that is specified by a card or some kind of game sheet, it is too complicated.
3) The point system / sacrifice system / whatever has not been decided yet. It is more important to the game design that there is some kind of cost to playing cards and a barrier to playing "i win" cards. The details of that system are secondary. I proposed the sacrifice system, but the progressive point system seems goot, too.
4) More about the "quest cards": these cards could be a complete surprise to the player, so they do not need to be laid out in the rules.
An example would be that someone plays a quest card on your hand that requires you to find a spork. You would loose that slot in your hand until you found the spork. Playing the card requires some kind of cost (either sacrifice or pp). In this way, it is the same as a trap. The quest card would tell you that you need to defeat the champion of one of the 5 Palaces, just as in the video game.
An example of a trap card is a locked door. This would block any progression in the quest until you were able to play a key card into your hand which would unlock the door. Again, there is a cost to the key and playing it would require a slot in your hand. |

@1)Okay, sorry for getting carried away... impatience I guess. I'll try to think twice before acting next time.
But: (I never give up!)
| Quote: | | [Rather difficult to say. Let's wait for the first card being created to adjust the PP gain at each turn.] |
was justified: so far, we've done only a few cards. I was planning on waiting for more cards to be created to the adjust the PP gain. I guess I'll do it now. After all, it can still be changed later...
| Quote: | | (let's say 20 to begin with, we'll adjust according to the ATK the creatures will have.) |
I admit it was vague. Plus, considering the gap there should be between very basic creatures like cobols and uber creatures like moderators, there has to be more HP. I'll raise it to 50. We'll see later if it has to be changed.
| Quote: | | the players have to adjust themselves their number of cards between too many and too few |
wasn't a hole at all: I had given a precise answer on the number of cards: "No limit". That sentence was just the "because..."
@4)You're mentioning a "slot" system. Does that mean the cards in hand, or is it something different? If it is, how many of these "slots" will there be?
Again, sorry if I have been offensive. _________________ "Told you" Famous last words.

I think we should follow Birdsey's idea with the Sporks and such. But then have the aforementioned Duel mode too. _________________ FACEPLANT |

Hmmh...I was thinking about it just now, and thought two things:
-Shouldn't the regular questing game be saved for the PnP or Egoboo itself?
-We don't have a dueling game yet...
But my decisions don't exactly rule everyone's thoughts, so I'll go establish a poll. All in favor say "Yes", "Aye", or "Okey-dokey then!" All against say "No", "Nay", or "Heck no!!!" _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/maxaxle88/

How about this.. We summon cards.. creatures, equips, spells/abilities, fields, etc.. (we could even play it like chess.. hehe ) a board game & card game combined seems to be a nice idea.. how to summon those cards seems to be your problem..
but as for cards..
-Summon monsters (for attacking)
-Equips(for monsters to power-up)
-spells/abilities(to have an edge-against opponent.. w/ different effects..)
-fields(to power-up certain types of creatures/ to have bonus effects like recovery every turn for each creatures or players)
-dungeons(only moderators & other higher ups can used this cards.. *if the adventure boardgame stuff is implemented) _________________ ~To Live in Every Breathe~

Alright, some concrete attempting to be laid here...
There are 2 modes of play- Duel and Quest.
Quest
We should have the aforementioned 'Gamemaster' whose hand everyone else must play against.
The GM holds all main story arena cards. When the others are ready they can choose to have them played, thus causing them to fight through the palace.
You would have five tiers of monsters (a.k.a GM card sets) to fight through before facing an Uber tough boss monster which, upon defeating, would grant you the prize for that level. (e.g. a Spork) The game is over when you defeat Abyss 2 and rescue the king.
Duel
2 players play off with their decks.
Each player is a GM with a set amount of HP, which can only be diminished by attacking when your opponent has no creature cards in play.
The rest, we decide. _________________ FACEPLANT |
