First, a big thanks to the hard working developers!
Second, I'm new to Egoboo and I'm trying to run it on WinXP SP3.
NVidia 8800 video card, Core 2 DUO CPU.
I just downloaded "ego265b_win32.exe" and it seemed to install cleanly.
The shortcuts it made on the Desktop and Start Menu didn't have thier "Start in" directory set but that was easy enough to fix.
The symptoms are this:
Game starts fine.
Graphics & sound default to all the highest settings.
I get to the point of picking my new character/module and when I click "start" (or whatever it's called), the game crashes.
I changed all the graphics to the lowest and disabled the sound and tried running it fullscreen and in a window and always the results were the same.
The Log.txt file seems to indicate there are files missing.
So I installed v2.6.4, THEN installed 2.6.5b over it and the problem remained unchanged.
Here's the contents of Log.txt file:
| Code: |

First, create a folder named 'book.obj' in the basicdat folder.
Second, enter the menu folder in basicdat.
Third, move everything that does not begin with menu_ to the book.obj in basicdat.
