Yea, you can add light zones and choose a radius and light level, but I think new tags would be better if we actually want day and night working. _________________ "To err is human, to really mess up requires a computer."

there is a file called egoextra.txt that mostly lists where point-lights are supposed to appear in a module.
I was planning on supporting this file.
The thing is that there are several different light schemes in the game already. First, the mesh has a pre-defined intensity. That's what is responsible for the spotlight-like illumination in the dungeons (take a look at the spot of light at the beginning of the Adventurer Starter, for example). This lighting system was also supposed to control the "fog of war" effect in the real-time-strategy modules.
Next, there is a lighting system for the particles, the dyna-light parameters listed in partXX.txt. This is what lets the torches light up characters and the mesh. If the egoextra lights get implemented, they would use this same system.
Last, there is a kind of global lightsource in wawalite.txt, like the sun. You can say what direction the light is coming from and how intense.
The biggest problem with modding anything in Egoboo is how to make it so that it adds something without making dramatic changes, or breaking the old modules.
For instance, I was able to use info in the wawalite file to automatically set the inside/outside lighting. |

Maybe just make "light.obj" or something and spawn it drop when day starts and go poof when night starts? And the night/day system would be the timer of the object. Is this possible? _________________

I think Sand Palace is outsinside. I mean, inside, but it has no roof. And Shadow Palace isn't lit. And Ash Palace is lit by the fire lights. And Water Palace isn't lit either. And Ice Palace is outsinside too. I think. _________________

I disagree.
Why?
Because most of the palaces just light themselves apart from Shadow (Which this already exists in anyway) Like the braziers and fire in Ash, braziers again in Water, and when they are out it is dark anyway.
Sand... is just fine. _________________ FACEPLANT |

Yea, I know what you're talking about, like an inner courtyard of sorts. I've seen some photos of Egyptian buildings built like that. _________________ "To err is human, to really mess up requires a computer."
