Hello 
I found out aout egoboo on ubuntu but the latest version didn't run properly so I tried to install it on windows xp.
After installing Egoboo (latest stable version - XP) I run it and I get something similar to

I have reinstalled but it didn't change anything.

You must have installed the development version.
You should get the stable, 2.6.3b version, it works on most computers and OSs.

I had 2.7.7 installed but I uninstalled it and installed 2.6.3b but I still get the same error .

edit: The error now also says: "Create process failed. Error 14001" along with the other error.
edit 2: found this: http://egoboo.informe.com/forum/help-dt583.html trying it out right now - didn't work probably because it's not for 2.6.3b

It's driving me nuts, 2.2.2 is so fun and I can't wait to play 2.6.3. I'll try installing it on my Ubuntu since my Windows Xp hates me, is there a tutorial for that?

Anyhow, I figured out that thing about your name right away, actually... Also, do you really live in Napaj? We don't have anyone from there yet.... But we have people from all over the world! Maxaxle, bgbirdsey, the penguinflyers, and I (and someone else I've surely forgotten) are from the United States; Agent of Dread, Mophead, and Axel (and some other people who never really stuck around) are from Australia; Zefz is from Norway; Chainsaw is from Israel; woodmouse is from Finland; Clonkinator is from Germany (but his English is so good that I frequently forget and get made fun of for it  ); and... and... I don't know.
We're from all over!

The error you get sounds awfully a lot like you are missing the redistributable package which should be included with the installer.
