Alright, I decided to start a new game. It will be similar to the other thread started here, but I really want to have fixed rules first before we start to play. If you want to add/discuss a rule, do it before someone actually starts playing. You can already create your character before though. Here I go...
Rules (no specific order):
1. One player may only have one character. The party is limited to 8 characters, since I cannot handle more at a time. (up to 2 NPCs may still join you though)
2. The player defines what he does in bold letters. For example: "Picks up the bottle with the red liquid in it.". Actions that might fail (for example because the target wouldn't want it to happen) should not be written in success-form. For example: Instead of "Cuts the enemies arm away and kills it by cutting of its head" "Attacks the enemies arm with his sword" or something.
3. Every character has HP, MP, XP and Gold. While wizards and such may use MP for casting spells, other classes may use MP to do other fancy stuff like special attacks or brewing potions.
4. Characters may gain self-defined spells/skills upon level ups, however the Dungeon Master may change them in order to be balanced. Also, instead of learning a new spell/skill, a player may also improve an already existing one.
5. If a player's HP drop to 0 or lower, he faints. He may still be attacked though, although the player can't act anymore until he's healed in some way. If a player's HP drop below -10, he dies (and cannot rejoin until either the whole party dies, or the party revives the character in some way).
6. If you want to talk, please write what you say in "".
7. Attacks/Weapons have a ATK value, which indicates how much damage it does. The damage done will result in "Attackers ATK - Defenders DEF = Damage" (damage cannot be lower than 1).
8. Many actions may be successful or may fail. The Dungeon Master will throw dices for you when you decide to do something, indicating the difficulty grade (the lowest number you need to have in order to be successful, e. g. if there is a DG of 14, you need to throw 14 or higher (with bonuses) in order to be successful).
9. When killing an enemy, each player in the party gains XP. Advancing to the next level always takes 100 XP more than it took to reach the previous level:
Lvl 2 - 000100 XP
Lvl 3 - 000300 XP
Lvl 4 - 000600 XP
Lvl 5 - 001000 XP
Lvl 6 - 001500 XP
Lvl 7 - 002100 XP
Lvl 8 - 002800 XP
Lvl 9 - 003600 XP
Lvl10 - 004500 XP
etc.
10. Gold may be aquired the same way as other items are (except for buying it, of course...)
11. You may carry up to 5 items in your inventory (even of the same type!). It should be displayed under your status table, using the "[hide]"-tag, so people don't always need to see all your items. Your equipment you're currently wearing should not be hidden.
12. Since you might be having quite some code in each of your posts, I recommend "copying" that code by clicking "quote" at your last own post. Just remember to remove the "[quote]"-tags afterwards.
13. The Dungeon Master will describe what you see. You can do various actions that will cause the Dungeon Master to reveal more information about it if you're successful.
14. If you want to say anything out of character, use olive as a color please.
15. You may try to do whatever you imagine you want to do. If you want to try to climb a wall in order to look at the whole thing from above, do it. If you encounter a pool full of sharks and want to jump over it, try it! Nobody ensures that it will be successful though...
16. Whenever I post I'll post a "summary" that indicates the current HP, MP and Lvl of each character and enemy (if there are any) as well as the result of your last actions. You may only do one action, e.g. attack someone, at a time. After having done an action, you'll have to wait for my next post. Saying something or talking to someone doesn't count as an action though. Also, if you do something in order to do something else, e.g. you light your torch to see what is around, or you throw something at your enemies to run surprise them and run away, it also only counts as one action, not as two.
17. When leveling up, you gain 1D6+Power HP, 1D6+Intelligence MP and may upgrade one of your skills or learn a new one. The modificators of your HP and MP you defined at the beginning of the game also applies. The modificators should be +1 if added together, and cannot be higher than +3/-3.
18. If things get risky, you may try to escape. In that case, every consious party member gets a check. Those are all added together, with unconsious heroes being +0. Then the remaining enemies all get a check (bosses may get high bonuses here), also being added together. Then party vs. enemies is checked. If party is higher, the escape is successful.
19. There are three possible positions for battles. You can choose between either *front* or *cover*. The front can be attacked by anything, but can also attack with anything itself. Covered characters can only be hit by ranged attacks, magic and certain skills that hit the whole party - however, this only applies if there is at least one character standing at the front. If all characters at the front are either gone or unconsious, melee attacks will hit covered characters as well. There's also a position *flying* for flying monsters, which always disallows melee attacks, even if there is no front. There may also be special positions for special cases.
20. Sometimes you'll encounter unusually strong enemies, called bosses. They are very dangerous and often need to be defeated in order to continue with the good part of the story. They often have very high modificators on their stats. When seeing them in the status table, they are marked brown.
Each Post should have the characters status table on top, looking like something like this:
Hans, lvl 15 (Fighter)

Gold: 783
ATK: 18
DEF: 14
Weapon: Great Sword +3 (ATK 18 )
Shield: Light Iron Shield (DEF 04)
Armor: Heavy Platemail +1 (DEF 10)
Items: Red Bottle, Blue Bottle, Buffalo Meat, Shiny Key, Compass
Power: +3
Dextery: +3
Wisdom: -5
Intelligence: -4
Attacking: +3
Dodging: +5
Casting: -5
Resistance: 0
I will be the DM. I won't join your party, but act as NPCs and enemies. If you want to invent a new spell or item, feel free to do so (remember to mark it OOC though, that means, olive).

Yup, you can be if you want. Anyway, if Zefz sees this it would be nice if he gave me modding rights for the off-topic forum (so I can edit the posts to show the results).
Anyway, your status table looks fine to me, although I'd prefer everyone starting without special items. And no starting gold, please!

I also think you shouldnt delete me posts.
Second i think you shouldnt act as if youve invented Roleplaying.
Third, i just wanted to sayy that the original idea of playng this kind of geme here in this forum, was ME idea. so all you did was writing the same rules i wrote on my first post in the other thread in some finer form.
Fourth, i think you should read things better, as if you did so you wouldnt oversight that many.

But that doesnt mean, You just make some hack´n Slay out of it, thats the only thing i wanted to prevent it from. May i just overreacted. But who gives him that right to rush and make his own thread about it, before someone could even say one tiny fucking word. So.. argh... just lets play

OCC: doh, this doesnt have to do that many with Post ctf, wich i actually didnt liked at all, only the way the game was played, so i thought about some other way, and i thought about pNp rpg, so i tought about some kind of board rpg and thought of some little rules or better the gameplay as it should be, rules should be defined later, i immediatly sent AoD a PM wich i told him about it, so then same day i posted it, then we rushed, started to play it immediatly, i didnt want that! I wanted to discuss the rules, think over and about everything. I mean you cant do just sumthing without knowing somthing about it, and look how it will be. AoD started immidatly, sending cobols into a village, of course the red one, cuz he was blue village. I dun no seems just fighting only to me. So i hoped i could fixed it anyway, start to discuss again. But then clonkinator said we need fixed rules, i said yea, lets talk then, but no! he was anxious to post a new thread by himself, take over everything and just be dungeonmaster, without asking, talking, THINKING at all. I thought about somthing real complex and special, may an ow forum, where we can attract mooore players from other forums, so it would be much more fun than with only that lil bunch we are. AND making some ädvertisement"for egoboo. But lets look how we're doing... I think, this will get into a hack'n Slay where we only say ï swing my sword at..."all the time, do nothing else, ok some exp here, some items there, but that doesnt make it a real deep Roleplay! I agree with Daedy, we should make an entire world out of it, that's why I proposed a new sub forum, so that the Rp stuff won't get mixed with the other forum games and we'll have a hard time finding everything.
Plus, we can attract a whole different crowd into these forums if we make an Rp board and get serious with it.

Sorry deadalus, I didn't mean to be rude to you or something. I just wanted to save your great idea from collapsing...
Alright, I slightly changed my first post above here. Btw, please also define the bonuses/maluses for your characters if they try to do certain things:
Power: -5 to +5
Dextery: -5 to +5
Wisdom: -5 to +5
Intelligence: -5 to +5
Attacking: -10 to +10
Dodging: -10 to +10 (also counts as blocking!)
Casting: -10 to +10 (only for spell-casting classes)
Resistance: -10 to +10 (chance to dodge/block a spell)
These numbers will be added/subtracted from certain dices in certain situations. The overall sum should be +/- 0. I suggest you place it under items, in the "[hide]"-tag.

I'll start at about 14:00 pm. For everyone who hasn't defined his stats bonuses/maluses 'till there (even if he wanted to set them to 0 all), I assume they're 0. You can readd them later at any time...
