Forget the Alchemist (I need a lotta potions), I'm starting on a Viking (warrior), and all it needs are:
-A FINISHED double-axe
-A Basic Axe
-A Battle "bearded" Axe
-A Wooden Buckler with an unusual design
-MAYBE: A shorter, lighter sword with no (or almost no) "side things"
-MAYBE: A War Bow that requires 12+ Strength
-MAYBE: A large Viking boat that would be at a city in the snowiest lands of Bishopia.
All I need to know:
-What should the special ability be?
-What should the Viking have for armor besides chainmail, cotton clothing, leather helmets, or steel helmets? (no horned helmets)
Also, it should NOT be able to use any ranged weapons besides spears and bows (including the War Bow)

Beserker=Crazy warrior that can use anything
Viking=Warrior without jousting abilities that uses swords, axes, and wooden bucklers.
This one prefers to use axes and bucklers and whatever else is around him. Very resourceful and pretty quick and a little weaker than the Soldier but is slightly more dexterous. He might have the ability to have a "long arm", as in grab any object within reach if an enemy is close, but not in attacking range.
Things he CAN use:
-Axes/Pickaxes/etc. overhand weapon (really good with these)
-Swords (better than maces, worse than axes)
-Maces/Warhammers (not really good at these, though)
Things he CAN'T use:
-Poisoned stuff (They might be against (Nordic?) religion, but he's too clumsy for these)
-Whips (He's CLUELESS )
-Crossbows (again: CLUELESS )
-Ninjastars, Spears, Magic (too clumsy, and no mana-or clue )
-Jousting Sticks...er...Lances (He isn't a Knight, you know!)
-Gonnes (of course)

Yes; but while not all vikings were berserkers, all berserkers were vikings, which means I couldn't do one now. As such, I highly suggest a horned helmet. No, vikings never wore horns on their helmets, but since when have we tried to make this a realistic game?!
At any rate, I don't care that much; I'm having way more fun with vikings than I even should already, and I already similarly stole the pirate, so I'm fine. _________________

Not quite true. Ancient vikings did, but they were over all of that by their Golden Age.
On another note, maybe "bezerker" should just be an ability, rather than a separate class? The legends of fierce bezerker warriors are usually so tied to the vikings... (Unless you are a wookie!) |

Well, yeah, that's a pretty good idea. In fact, maybe Purple should make the Viking...with Beserker as its special level cap/high-experience bonus! Ability to use axes and swords and other stuff even faster than usual, right...? _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/maxaxle88/

Bezerk usually implies damage bonus + invulnerability to demoralization. It should probably have decreased armor since you are focusing all of your energies on attacking.
Often, the ability is not controlled of the player, but just happens when you take enough damage / nearly die... |

Beserk should autmatically attack with the players weapons when he is close to enemies (PressTargetLatchButton). Maybe we should also enable friendly fire somehow while in berserk.
Increased hp, attack speed but continous hp drain is one way to do the bonuses. Maybe berserk is automatically activated after killing 2-3 monsters within a short period of time, and remains active for as long you keep killing monsters. _________________ http://egoboo.sourceforge.net
