Woodmouse doesn't know "a an scimitar" is shown in game due to a mistake both in the data.txt grammar and in the message.txt.
Clonkinator thinks he is correcting Woodmouse's grammar, which he does.

It is an scimitar not a scimitar that is grammatically correct Smile

Anyways the shovel was supposed to be upside down, so when you attack with it, you bash enemies with the shovel side.

Speaking of which, the Sword has the same basic bug: enemies hit with the flat side, yet there is still slicing damage. The G'nome, being double-handed (no animation changes between hands), doesn't have this problem.
